Doing Nothing And Thinking It Will Not Get Worse

A common myth, perpetuated by many sources, is that your thyroid symptoms will not get worse… that you have nothing to worry about.  This is just not true.  Studies have shown that approximately 90% of thyroid patients in the United States are most likely to have an autoimmune condition as the cause of their thyroid condition.  This ties into the immune system and an immunological piece of this puzzle, which is only one piece of the puzzle.

If you sit around and wait for this to just go away on its own, or you just think you can do nothing and it will be OK… you are falling into a trap.  Avoid it at all costs.  The functional abnormalities are only getting worse, and you are making your recovery harder.  To make matters worse, since most thyroid disorders in the USA are autoimmune and this aspect is largely ignored, additional autoimmune attacks occur – so more of your body is destroyed over time.
