The irony is many medications that are prescribed for the treatment of other health challenges can bring about peripheral neuropathy by causing nerve damage. Since medications don't help with the underlying causative factor(s) for neuropathy nerve damage, one of the most dreaded and dangerous side effects of peripheral neuropathy often occurs. What is this most dangerous neuropathy symptom? **In my opinion it is the loss of balance due to subtle or significant loss of sensation in the feet**. The loss of balance can lead to falls and even death! ### Drugs that are known to cause or contribute to neuropathy include: - anti-convulsants (drugs used to treat seizures) - drugs to fight bacterial infections - some blood pressure medications - medications used to treat cancer - drugs used to lower cholesterol (statins) I suggest you familiarize yourself with a very [detailed report by Dr. Louis H.
