Untangling Autoimmune Illness Mysteries With Proper Testing

Most people want a linear answer when it comes to answers about their autoimmune illness or other health challenge. I'd say that a majority of the time when it comes to chronic illness, the solution is more like solving a jigsaw puzzle.
What would you do if you had a LARGE unsightly collection of callous laden warts on the bottom of your right foot, autoimmune attack of your gut, gluten sensitivity and a family history of many autoimmune diseases like Parkinson's disease and rheumatoid arthritis?

Autoimmune Thyroid, Celiac? You Can Lose Weight and Feel Better
Posted by Dr. Karl R.O.S. Johnson, DC on Mon, Jan 03, 2011
Through specialized testing for gluten sensitivity and celiac genes and then other tests to measure what substances my body was reacting to (gluten, casein, yeast, soy, eggs) I was able to tailor my diet to allow healing to occur faster. As a result of the changes I had to make for myself, I am a better doctor for my patients who come with chronic health issues, such as fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s thyroid, balance disorders, peripheral neuropathy, etc. Most of these patients are just having all their symptoms treated and not the root cause of their health challenges. By the time I see them, they have advanced damage to their bodies and need specialized attention, testing and treatments. I put together a page that outlines my unique specialized testing and treatment methods.
After learning about these health challenges and then the changes needed for body healing - weight loss comes along with the deal, since there is less inflammation and bloating. Better food choices based on each persons body, makes the weight come off easily and permanently as you make dietary and lifestyle changes. Not only do you lose weight, but you are healing from autoimmune disease, preventing future disease and regaining energy and self control of your health.
For myself, I plan on getting to under 190 pounds. I plan to do this by continuing myhealth plan:
1. Eat gluten free, casein free, soy free, yeast free and egg free
2. The foods that are left I will eat the best and neutral foods for my blood type and stay away from the avoid foods (read Eat Right 4 Your Type and Live Right 4 Your Type by Peter J. D'Adamo, ND for more information). Watch a short video on Blood Type Diet Here.
3. Continue cycle training and core training and stretching and add Total Gym and elliptical workouts.
4. Get to bed earlier and wake up earlier.
Cheers! You can do it too. Just set your sights on what you want, and resolve each day work your plan. One day at a time you can do it. If you need help just ask me or any of my wonderful team members. We are all on a plan for wellness and healing.
